The secret of The speed of sharks

Scientists, University of South Florida in the U.S. have unlocked the secret that allows sharks to their sudden changes of direction without losing speed.

These movements, designed in the mako shark (fin short), would be permitted by a series of notches on the bone skin in some areas I cover the animal.

The stamps on the skin, allow the animals to cause a physical phenomenon of fluid called "flow separation." By reducing this phenomenon, the body makes less friction in the speed curve so that the animal remains almost constant before the turn.

The same principle that allows golf balls to reach great distances, thanks to the dimples on the surface thereof.

The stamps are closer to the base, about 0.2 mm large and are able to bend angles above 60 degrees. They are more in areas behind the branches.
