few days ago the European Parliament has approved a new directive on the use of animals esperimento.Tra by the new rules, many have raised controversy of animals, such as the LAV company and also in people.

Among the most contested provisions:

1. possible use of stray dogs and cats with a derogation (banned in Italy since 1991);


2. possible use of endangered species and / or captured in the wild;


3. practice suppression with the use of carbon dioxide humanitarian defined but seems to cause great suffering for long time;


4. can not use anesthetic for experiments especially painful


5. non-use of great apes, which includes only the species: chimpanzee, gorilla, orangutans and bonobos.

The directive must be applied in all 27 EU member states with the possibility for individual states to create stricter rules within their territory.
